Swell
Uchiyama washi paper, brass, steel
2025
In the forests of northern Nagano, there are young trees that bend under the weight of snow and rise again, and there are old trees that have grown thick and straight over many years. Twisting yet striving upward, the young embody energetic resilience, while the old reflect the strength of deeply rooted wisdom. By tracing the shapes of branches with washi paper, I reflect human society through the dynamic forms of the forest.
