森をつかむ、つつむ ーBranching Outー Two-Person Exhibition at Shiga Kogen Roman Art Museum
The exhibition "森をつかむ、つつむーBranching Outー” was held from July 13 to September 29 at Shiga Kogen Roman Museum .
It is a two-person museum exhibition with Kristen Tordalle-Williams that explores the intersections of labor, craft, and technology mainly using Uchiyama washi. Both artists invited community participation and amassed communal memories of the landscape for the exhibition.
Themes of forgotten and re-emerging labor, collective knowledge, and the delicate balance between industrial advancement and decay are visualized in mixed media sculpture and paper artworks.
I exhibited the artwork/installation, Sowers, Swell, Paper Over the Weight, and Mabushi.
The art productions and exhibition were founded by
Shinshu Arts Council, Ohio Arts Council, Nomura Foundation, and Asahi Foundation
It was a part of the Nagano Organic Artist in Residency
