The hardened sand were broken and were fixed

2011 November

In Japanese shrines, we sometimes see a pile of stones. This is a kind of ritual entails a person coming and going between the date and shrine and praying 100 times. The pile of stones is a trace of accounting the time. Such a trace of ritual can show the essence of meaning, or the person's mind even though we do not know the religion or its thought. These pieces are a trace of my own ritual that I use toward my concept. I created polished sand balls which I then broke, and fixed a hundred time.
